SUMMARY:2026 KPS Band Festival
DESCRIPTION:\nThe KPS Band festival is a chance for us to get the high school students and the 8th band students together to learn from each other, to share in music making together, and to celebrate their shared heritage. The day culminates with a concert by the KHS Wind Ensemble, the 8th grade bands and their alumni, and a massed band with everyone involved.\n\n\n\nThe schedule for the day will be:8:00-8:10 am – Arrive and check in. Report to door 33 on the West side of the building.  Direct middle school students to put their case behind the stage wall. Have a seat in the CHaT\n\n\n\n8:15-8:45 am – Fellowship Time. Goal is to have the HS students get to know the MS students and make them feel comfortable. In the CHaT. \n\n\n\n8:45-9:45 am – FULL REHEARSAL \n\n\n\n9:45-10:10 am–  Snacks! (Provided by the band department.)\n\n\n\n10:10-11:15 am – Full Rehearsal\n\n\n\n11:15 – 11:30 pm – Break\n\n\n\n11:30 pm – 12:15 pm – Rehearsal/record 8th grade for NSBA application to perform at convention\n\n\n\n12:15-12:50 – Lunch (Provided)\n\n\n\n12:50 pm – 1:05 pm – KHS Jazz Ensemble plays for students\n\n\n\n1:05-1:30 pm – Full Rehearsal\n\n\n\n1:30 – 1:45 pm – Break\n\n\n\n1:45 – 3:10 pm – WE then mass band\n\n\n\n3:15 pm – Dismiss MS Students/Rehearse WE – this is when MS students get picked up by parents at door 33 again.  If students are riding with a sibling, they are allowed to stay in the auditorium until the end of the day and then ride home with siblings.\n\n\n\n3:45 pm – Dismiss HS Students \n\n\n\n7:00 pm – report to the KHS.  HMS/SMS seating in the blocked off seats in the auditorium, WE on stage. Concert dress will be the same as the Marching Band.  Black Pants and your 8th Grade Band Shirt.\n\n\n\n7:30pm – Concert Starts\n
