4.Committee ReportsPit Crew -Game one we got on and off, went well but still need helpAs directors keep adding props we will need more people. With props we will have two full trailers this yearNeed about another 5-6 people to assist with carrying and moving equipment/props. Will especially need help with competition in South Dakota. This is important so the students can conserve their energy for the competition. Uniforms / Roadies – Lots of volunteers needed here as well to help with fixing hair, uniforms, etc. Lack of volunteers at this last game was difficult and hectic but managed to get everyone helped. Concessions -New this year!! – We acquired management of the concession stand and we have now taken over which is an opportunity to earn more funds (estimated $6K-$9K)for the band. We have people to handle inventory, order pizza, and handle the additional management roles needed. We ordered card readers that will work with the quick books so we can now take credit card transactions at major events like NSBA,etc. We will be getting a cheese dispenser with the $500 donation from the Kearney Visitors Bureau.        d.    BMF & NSBA – still looking for some others to help manage concessions as far as ordering products and organizing volunteers. BMF is Sep 21st. We have 5 schools so far ( had 9 last year). NSBA entry is only credit card or prepay – NO CASH – we should know if the card readers are working after using them for BMF first. NSBA is Oct 26th. Will have a volunteer meeting the Friday before NSBA. Last year the concession area got really congested and we will improve that this  year. LeFeber asked Shawna to communicate with him on leasing a cheese pump machine for NSBA for $250 for a 3 year lease. If she uses the band account they won’t have to pay tax on it.        e.   Big Band Dance – Will need volunteers for that

Cash tips will go to KBPA 100%. Tell your family and friends.      b.   K Cards – they are coming. Instead of selling for $5 each they will be $10 each. Organizations have to purchase how many they think they will need @ $1 each. We bought 1200. They may not go quite as fast. They will be arriving any day now. Spring Fundraiser – last two years we did a beef raffle that was successful and we are leaning that direction again but are open to other ideas. Beef raffle has a better margin.Concession stand RaiseRight – in the past you would just purchase gift cards but now you can shop sites online directly through them to earn money towards student account.Spark (Walmart)

9.Director’s CommentsLeFeber (Mitchell at pep band this evening)Less basketballs for pep band – more Volleyball this year. No assigned bands this year. Need to take Thursdays game off the website – not doing pep for thatWill leave pretty early for the Columbus competition. Field show won’t be until about 5pm.Fall Play conflicts with Harvest of Harmony2nd Sat in Oct is offWeekend after that is competition in SDLast time we went to Vermillion, SD we had KBPA buy a meal for one night. Gretchen volunteers to help with this as well. Motion1st – Steven2nd – TimMotion carriesNo overnight stay for the Vermillion SD trip. It’s just a long day. Last time it was 8am departure-2am arrival. Parents can just check out their kids if they are there and staying the night.
Ideas for last supper – Mom and Dad’s BBQ possibly. Nebraskaland Bank has a large smoker we could look into borrowing. Sometimes they donate the meat. I (Mattie) will get in contact with Nebraskaland folks about possibly using. All state auditions are dueDoane doesn’t require an audition unless they want to get into the top group.Section of website needs updated with due dates for some of these honor bands. Trying to spearhead a new project involving private lessons. Has seen this really improve other bands internationally and nationally with other schools. Lessons can’t be done during the school day so has to be before or after school. Haven’t set up a way to pay through MMO but can just write a check for the 9 weeks sessions. Has five professionals so far to help spearhead these lessons. Still working on low brass and percussion instructors. Lessons don’t have to be for the chosen/current instrument. If they wanted to learn a new instrument that could be an option. Might send out the form again for the next school term to open up options for kids that are busy with marching band and other sports.
