4.Committee Reports

Uniforms – are back and put away.

Concession – State speech went well, bringing in about $5,000. Have two opportunities coming up 04/05 and 04/09 with more possibly in May.

Band Banquet Big Band Dance- 1940s USO Theme – Lucas Frye talked to the Fire Department. They paid in full for large reusable banners for this annual event. Banners are 7ft by 5ft and are double sided. Cost was $500. Posters to distribute around town will be available soon.

The VA is able to transport veterans from the home that want to come to the event. Will likely need volunteers to escort the VA residents from the bus to their designated area at the event.

Lora has a drawing idea for purchasing “war bonds”. Also will have “ration cards” for the concessions. $15 value for $10.

She has been working with the National Guard on having a Jeep here for display. Another option would be contacting the Teichmeiers who have the military museum in Lexington.

Free admission for enlisted military and first responders.

Expected expenses:
– Possibly a thank you gift bag for the veterans and see if the National Guard can help.
– Photo booth again this year.
– Centerpieces – working with Mom and Dad’s BBQ for big tin cans.
– Concession stand – Levi’s popcorn, hot dogs, corn dogs, soda, water.
– Coffee and Donuts – Working with Dunkin on decaf coffee and donuts.

Looking for a dance judge for the dance competition. Will also have the costume competition. Door proceeds go to Jazz Band and event proceeds go to KBPA.NSBA
