| 9. | Director’s Comments Rick Mitchell We finished up the Honor Band season and are into District music season. They have more students than spots, so those will be determined soon. Need volunteers for upcoming events. Nathan LeFeber UNO Jazz Fest was great. Kids got to meet and hear from James Morrison. Jazz Ensemble got a superior rating. Jazz Lab band got excellent award. We are starting a Jazz Festival at UNK and the evening concert will be at the Merryman. This will happen April 15th at 6pm and guest artists are coming in from Kansas and Colorado. No volunteers needed for this. Concert this Thursday is coming up. Wind Ensemble playing Rhapsody in Blue, 100th anniversary of its composition. We purchased “harmony director” to help streamline the teaching that we do. Was a $700 purchase. (insert demo courtesy of Mr. LeFeber) We have some funds in the band account and we want to make sure those funds are going to benefit the band. Timpani covers are needed for the better set of the two we have. New covers total will be $1,200. New uniform company is Fruhof and directors will travel to their company to check out designs for uniforms. The new uniforms will be for fall of 2027.
