Treasurer’s Report – Marlene Lentfer – Cashed in the $10,000 CD, it received about $440 in interest, Turf fund from Band concert passing of bucket was successful with little effort, $34 to hardship fund, income tax will be done by the 25th. Motion to approve Robbie Samuelson 2nd Sheryl Hansen, approved.
Old Business
Turf Fund Concert Donations – $620.97, thanks to Mark Thomas and Ann Snider
Christmas Gift Wrap – Jeanne Thorn – $800.32 was made. $5.78 an hour, Jeanne made a how to notebook
Hockey Clean-up – Shawna Skaggs – still openings on Jan. 18th, Feb 8, 15th Explained again that no students can participate due to alcohol exposure.
Basketball Concessions – You can contact Judy Meyer or Marlene Lentfer – 4 games so far. Each band student can have two sign ups- in February the remaining dates will available to be booked.
Grant Committee – Hamburger Helper – needs more volunteers – grant committee, found on the internet, not a full fledge grant writing required, then gets voted on by hits on the web, Feb 1-Mar 31 is the run time for the next grant.
Junkman Recycling – Ed, Week of Band Parents meeting take aluminum cans to Junk Man recycling, tell them it is for the Band, they will track it and the funds will go towards Turf Fund. Posting a page on the Website for the details. Will get going this week.
Fundraising Ideas – example Garage Sale- open to the floor, submit to the board
New Business
Big Band Dance – need co-chairs for fund raiser-deserts and beverages – Feb 1st, selling desserts and beverages during the dance – will vote at next meeting where the funds will go to.
March meeting – date change March 3rd will be the meeting night instead.
Nominations to Board – Vice President needed for next year board, can turn in nominations, actual nominations will be in April for May vote.
Directors’ Comments – Aaron Svoboda, Rick Mitchell with family. Pep Band lists given to students. Students are responsible for finding a sub. Band trip still in limbo due to some funds still outstanding, Friday is deadline. Still waiting on itinerary, final rooster due March 15th. Fun getting back to work. Come to big band dance, even if you do not dance, great way to support Jazz bands. In the Cafeteria at Kearney High. Jan 25th Jazz band doing pep band, trying to get some dancers to draw in kids. Dance is 7-10pm, Fri. Feb 1st.
Parent Comments or Questions
Question was asked what estimated cost would be, $989 for a quad (4 to a room) is the projection. Will be different if doubles or triples in the room. Students can take up to $50 a day for expenses out of their student bank account. Continental breakfast will be included.
Marlene has checks and balances collected so far. April 1st will be the balance.
