Committee Reports

Old Business

  • Concessions-Doing well, Jim Payne will continue to fill the time slots for BB concessions per e-mail requests and response. Time slots, for those requesting to work, will be confirmed by email from Jim. It was asked to have a last minute sign up sheet for those occasions when someone does not show up to work for their shift. Jim will work on gathering a list for this.
  • Runza Night- Will be at Runza (South) on Monday, Feb. 15th. Please help spread the word to as many people as you know. As a reminder, tell others that the funds will help toward the Eagle Scout project in the Band Storage room that Adam Zheng is doing this spring.
  • Big Band Dance-is scheduled for Saturday, May 1st. Parents are asked to bring desserts for this night to raise money for the Band Parents. The monies raised from admissions help fund enrichment experiences for the Jazz Lab and Ensemble students. Update provided by Rhonda Jaeschke. Flyers to be available, possibly by the April meeting, for people to take to businesses for advertisement.

New Business

  • Need Chair for Cruise night concessions. Assistant chairs have already been selected (Bamesbergers). Cruise night will be July 17th. Ed explained a quick overview of what will be involved. There will also be resources available for the Chair to use including Ed and Barbara Uden for guidance.
  • Executive Board upcoming nominations. Be thinking of nominees for the position of President Elect and Assistant Secretary for next year. The nominations may take place at the April meeting and voting at the May meeting.
  • Online store. Ed mentioned that the online store has brought in funds and there is currently $60 in the Paypal account from sales. Check out the Online store by visiting kearneybands.org/ and click on ‘Band Store’ to find all of the products that are available. Window decals were a suggestion for your car. Ed mentioned that new items could be easily be added to the site.

Director’s Comments

  • Aaron: Video of the New Orleans trip if desired will only include the Jackson Square performance. For some reason, technical difficulties with the Half time show arose. If parents/anyone had a video camera at the half time show, there may be a possibility of getting one that way.
  • Rick: Juniors/Seniors to turn in their uniforms this week, with the Freshman/Sophomores turning theirs in the following week. Jazz Band festival in Grand Island next weekend. April is Jazz appreciation month and activities will be happening mostly at school during that week, with a few activities planned out in the public.
  • The April meeting will be confirmed in March. Next meeting to be held on March 2nd.

Adjournment

  • With no further comments the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted, Matt Bamesberger-acting secretary
