Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Lisa Parish. Meeting participants were asked to introduce themselves and their child in band as well as instrument and year in school.
Approval of Minutes
Approval of May meeting minutes was motioned by Ed Uden and second by Laura Trout all were in favor.
Financial Report
- Savings = $11,014.01
- Checking = $18,623.57
- Scrip = $427.10
Sharon Johnson motioned to approve Treasurer report and Kathy Madsen second, all were in favor.
Bearcat Marching Festival – September 22nd and NSBA October 20th
Chairs Erica Krull and Mikaela Richmond gave an update and explanation of events and volunteer needs. There is a volunteer sign up genius on the kearneybands.org/ website. Please consider volunteering many are needed for these events.
Roadies Update
Chairs Cheryl Hjort and Joni Ruth reminded parents and students no eating in uniforms. They need to be in full uniform before and during the games and competitions. This includes black socks, black shoes, hats should be on the head or in a bag. If the uniform needs dry cleaned do immediately at Modern Cleaners. Additional slots for parents to volunteer with games and competition preparations. Reminder to have neck straps washed.
Pit Crew
Ed Uden gave a review of what a pit crew entails. We have props that are needing to be carried on the field, we are needing volunteers for this.
Charms
A discussion and overview of charms was conducted.
Volunteer Positions
- Concessions – Angela Wright chair. This is a way to earn money for your child.
- Stadium Clean up – Reanna Mitchell chair – Clean up stadium after games limit of 15 people.
- Senior Flag Setup – Lisa Parish done at an hour before every game
- Bus Sponsors – Need to pick up a volunteer application if you have not already filled one out.

Fundraising
- KCards starts September 14th are $5.00 each. Can have 10 at a time.
Directors Comments
Mr. Mitchell – All State Honor Band ( November 14-16th) forms need turned in. Auditions due 9/29. Fee $20.00.
Mr. LeFeber – Itineraries for competitions are on the website. Introduced 2019-2020 Trip ideas: 1. Germany/Czech $ 4,000.00 for 8 days need 120 people, 2. Costa Rica – $3,000.00 or 3) Domestic (Disney, Florida, Chicago, etc) A great discussion was had, no decisions were made.
NSBA Advertisement
Eva mentioned to ask for NSBA advertisement for programs.
Adjournment
With no other business to conduct there was a motion by Ed and second by Kersten Schroeder. Next meeting is October 2nd at 6:30 in the band room.

The second is through the band website kearneybands.org/. The Quarternotes, handbooks, and contact info are all on the website. Make sure you are receiving information so there are no surprises.
