    Treasurer Update
    General Account: $40,500.05

Online Account: $7501.66 – MMO and donations run through this account.

Bearcat Marching Fest BMF 2025 report – $3,669,96 gross profit, a little more than last year. Spent quite a bit more in concessions. The only thing extra we purchased in comparison to last year was buns. Prices are up about $10 a case for items like candy. We may have to look at increasing prices since our costs to purchase have increased. We do have a lot leftover that we will use for NSBA. Also had a few extra doritos for the walking tacos. Didn’t purchase pickles, wraps/foils, etc. Soda sales were higher due to higher temps that day.

BMF admission/donation was brought up by the KBPA and many voiced their concerns that admission should just be a set $10 to attend, not a “suggested donation”.

Sponsorships have raised $13,590.22 so far in cash or trading for services – huge thanks to Alissa Nebbe for these sponsorships. If anyone knows any other businesses that might like to donate to let her know.

Wednesday October 15th, please eat at Raising Canes. A percentage will go to help fundraise the band.

Pizza Ranch fundraiser results – $542.04
DQ fundraiser results – $273.30 and $25.18 cash tips

    4. Committee Reports
Pit Crew – Ed expressed his thanks to an awesome team that makes things happen. The sign up for pit crew is full but more helpers are still welcome.

Uniforms / Roadies – didn’t get much tshirt donations, but they are good on socks. They did find some wig caps and hair nets that help tame hair with bobby pins.

Concessions – will be some dates coming in December

Stadium CleanUp – full except for 2 spots on the last football game 10/24. Reminder to only sign up for 2 spots unless you get an email that the last couple spots are free game.

NSBA – Need someone to volunteer to train for a co-cordinator for NSBA for next year. For volunteers we are at 50% sign up. 95 spots have been claimed and 95 spots still remain. Reminder that volunteers do not have to pay admission and you receive a free meal ticket. Huge thank you to the band directors and everything they do for our kids. Moving concessions downstairs to the cafeteria, but will try to have a beverage station behind the stands at the top of the stairs. We have added a “non conforming” volunteer spot. Volunteer training is Thursday 10/23 at 6:30. Not required but highly recommended for all volunteers to attend. Please park across the street at the Berean Church day of NSBA. Each volunteer will receive a map and schedule. This year we will have a volunteer assistant who will help go around to all volunteers to relieve them for a short time to use the restroom, grab a meal, etc. This year we will have a trial run for a mini-bus transporting patrons from offsite parking to the event. Wristbands this year are music themed. Students will only have a mark on their hand. Tickets can be purchased with a card at the gate.

    5. Volunteers needed
Senior Night Recognition 10/24 – need 1-2 people just to assist getting people lined up in alphabetical order.

PIT CREW HELP-HOH, football games, Quad State, NSBA, Vet Parade

Bus Sponsors-Signup genius – can take more people on the bus even though sign up is full. Just email directors. If you are driving separately, we could use help with a task that day.

NSBA 10/25 – 95 spots still needing to be filled. Volunteers will not have to pay admission and will receive a meal ticket. Desperately need volunteers for parking, gate/ticketing, and concessions.

    Big Band Dance Chair

      9. Director’s Comments
      Nathan LeFeber
Mr. Mitchell couldn’t be here tonight. He had to attend the concert at the Merryman. Thank you all for donating to the middle school band trip. Their director, Stacy Bean, is retiring at the end of this year. Also thank you to the parents for the food and snacks they provided for the kids during recent event

We’ve had two competitions so far for marching band. We have been really impressed with how much the students have improved and have stayed on top of their performance. Last weekend we received recognition for Best AA Band of the Day, and we tied for highest score overall in the parade. For the field competition we received a Superior rating and Best Field Show. UNK homecoming parade is coming up and the students are not participating in order to give them a weekend off.

Our next competition will be in Vermillion, SD. The kids march inside a dome, it’s pretty cool, so come watch our kids as well as other bands we typically don’t get to see. It’s a full day. Admission could possibly be discounted if you purchase ahead online. Pizza and fruit will be provided by KBPA and Grandma Wright will be baking cookies for the entire band. We do need a parent to possibly go ahead of the band on the way home to pick up the pizzas in Albion.

Kids are excited for the upcoming event at the Lied center. We will be premiering a brand new piece that KHS commissioned.
Still working through the process with ordering new uniforms. A sample has been received and is being reviewed with the appropriate parties. Most of our previous uniforms are from Fruhauf Uniforms. We are hoping to get them approved soon.

We have a mixing board that is controlled by an iPad and lately we have been having some issues with connectivity, likely due to it’s age of 12 years! Hoping the KBPA can help with the purchase of a new iPad or other device to remedy this issue.
Motion to approve iPad/device: Steven Thiele
