Welcome to all attending – Thank you to those who helped at the Runza Fund Raiser before January’s meeting at Runza-South.
Minutes from December 4th meeting (didn’t have available in Jan.) Recorded by Susan Baker. Bruce Brooks motioned, Steve Shanno 2nd, approved.

Treasurer’s Report for February – Marlene Lentfer
Feb- Ducks $698 deposited, foundation error, additional $74 being issued today. All Ducks will be credited to kids’ acct tomorrow. Sale tax paid for 2007 also paid.
Treasurer’s Report for March – Marlene Lentfer
March – Hockey clean up still waiting for one more check, then kids’ accounts will get credited. Sold one coffee mug, updating stamps for seniors, 1st junk man check received. Another trip payment was made. Most money in savings is student money. 3 year commitment for Turf Fund is done, but we are $7800 short.
Sheryl Hansen motioned to accept both Feb and March, Linda martin 2nd, approved
Old Business
Runza Fund Raiser – 90% to Turf Fund and 10% to General Fund- not received yet, Wendy Kreis following up with this.
Hockey Clean-up – Shawna Skaggs – went pretty well, $250 – 10% -$50 stipen, $2200 total divided by 144.7 hours, equals $15.20 per hour. Shawna mentioned we would be interested for next year, Shawna will contact next year.
Basketball Concessions – Judy and Marlene – Concessions are over, don’t have exacts will be about $20 an hour. Less games than normal, but more double headers helped with big selling nights. We still have some items for sale, ½ bag popcorn, ½ jar oil, about $100 a candy, 3 for $1. Once all money is in she will complete posting.
“Aluminum Turf” Week – March 3rd – March 8th can take into Junkman any time this week. Scott Lentfer has truck here tonight, otherwise take to 100 E 8th street.
Big Band Dance Dessert Sale – Sheryl Hansen and Robbie Samuelson presented it was successful– Sheryl said we collected $286.45 – 10%, 257.81 divided by 30 units, each unit $8.60. Each person who provided a dessert or volunteered to serve counted as a unit. Thanks to all those who helped serve and provide. Robbie said “Dito”. Highly attended Big Band Dance.
New Business
Grant – Wal-Mart awards a grant every six months to an employee who volunteers their time for a group or cause, they gave $250 to Brenda Weimer who had applied for it for the band. Brenda would like to put it towards Turf Fund.
Hamburger Helper Grant – This is an internet grant, we will send out an email to everyone once it is posted on the site. This is not a typical grant. Grant was finalized last night, electronically submitted, HH will then notify if we qualify. Band parents will then vote online. Parents must vote, we will have 10 days to vote. Easy way to put $8000.00 in our Turf Fund. Encourage non band parents to visit the site too. HH can request photos. Maximum amount given is $15,000.00. Someone suggested if Tori with the sdhool office can put on email broadcast. Maybe pitch to other Clubs. Mark will announce HH grant at beginning of concert tomorrow night.
Discussion about passing the hat at tomorrows concert, open discussion, do not pass during performing, in between sets, Tammy will provide band hats, people head to the back to pick up hats. Arlyn Hinrichs motioned to pass hat to go towards turf fund, Tammy Duncan 2nd motion, approved.
Nominations to the Board – – President Elect (3 yrs.) and Treasurer (2 yrs.)
Please let Board member know if interested, or know someone who would be good. Take nominations in April vote in May.
Music Group Photos – order forms hanging by photos, due date is when “guy” comes to pick up, only been here since last week, photos same as year book. Hinrich’s Studio does not charge for sitting fee.
Band Scholarships
Application will be on site by March 10th, will have until Tues, March 25th to apply. Directors will review and then Board will award on April 2- $150 from Band Parents, there is also 2 – $150 from Sunshine Travel for kids who traveled to Chicago.
