Reading of the minutes
Minutes were read by those in attendance. A motion was made to accept the minutes as submitted by Todd Ochsner and seconded by Lynn Cooper.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s Report was shared. The report will be filed.
Committee Reports
UNK concessions – Sue Higgins will have the check in the mail.
Basketball concessions – all of the time slots have been filled at this point.
New Business
Band Uniforms – The district will no longer pay for uniform cleaning. The band budget was increased, but the transportation bill increased more than the increase in the budget. We are trying to figure out ways to stretch the budget. One idea is to have each student take their uniform to Liberty Cleaners, pay for the cleaning and then pick up the uniform, return it to the school with the receipt. The price would be approximately $13 – $14 for the pants, coat and gauntlets. We would have to make sure the uniform is taken to Liberty Cleaners; they are the only cleaners in town that is certified to clean our types of uniforms. If another company cleans them, the warranty is void. This alone would cover about $2100 of the budget. Another idea is to have the students pay for their own shoes. The students may still need to wear their uniforms for music contests. Uniforms cleaning would probably be staggered by grade level.
The students will not be taking their uniforms on the Washington D.C. trip. With the trip package there is a polo included that says Kearney High Band.
Old Business
Band Booster Steering Committee- Mr. LeFeber is still working on this. Big Band Dance – A sign-up sheet will be passed around at the next meeting to bring desserts for the Big Band Dance. Donations will also be accepted for things like napkins, forks, creamer. The students will take care of setting things up, the parents will only be needed for serving the desserts. Arlene Jones volunteered to chair the Big Band Dance, Lynn Cooper and Lisa Meseure offered to help if necessary. Reusable bags – We still haven’t gotten any more information.
Hoop Heads – We need volunteers to help sell at the upcoming basketball games. Several members volunteered. The table will set up just before the doors to the gym and the hoop heads will be stored in director’s office.

Food donations for the concert and suggested monetary donations – several members volunteered – Thank you
Director’s Comments
Veterans Day- Gorgeous weather
Food Drive – Salvation Army will benefit from the donations.
Pep Band – Check your students color to know when they will be playing. The list will be posted on the School Fusion page, and they will also be posted on kearneybands.org/. Concert Critique – Students need to critique 1 concert each quarter.
Trip – clinic secured on an Air Force base and a performance at a monument. Trip payment on February 15, 2012.
Deli International sales in March and final trip payment due April 1st.
