Meeting was called to order by Lexi McNeal at 5:30pm. Eva Linn made a correction to the minutes from the March. Doreen Sheen made a motion to approve the minutes as corrected. Jeana Pineda second the motion. All approved the March minutes.
Treasurer’s report – There were $8129.08 deposited into the general fund. There were $27,040.20 written in checks. The General fund checking account balance is $23,067.46.
March script was $9.00 for the general account and $13 into student accounts. If purchasing gifts for graduation consider using script.
Stadium cleanup earned $.17 per minute. Basketball concessions earned $.61 per minute. The total earned to go into student accounts was $36.79 an hour. Corinne described how the money was accounted for both income streams and distributed into student accounts. She then described the need to transfer funds from the students misc ledger to the trip ledger to have money to be used for the NY trip. Either an email needs to be sent to Corinne or you have to request a transfer in Charms for that money to be switched from the misc account to the trip acct.
Kelly Heard and Lauren Harbols were acknowledged from their excellent organization skills with the concession stand for everyone to be able to make so much money for their student’s accounts.
Eva Lynn gave a report about the Silent Auction event for the Lights on project. Eva was recognized for her hard work. She was disappointed with the turnout as there were about 12 people who attended. She reported they made about $3400.00 for the Lights on project.
Mr. Mitchell asked that everyone hand in the medical form required for the trip. District music contest is scheduled for April 23rd @ Grand Island Senior High. They allowed 24 entries and there are 40 students interested. There will be auditions and performances at the Runza night fundraiser on April 19th for 5-7:00pm.
Mr. Mitchell talked about the value of purchasing season tickets to the Kearney Concert Association 2016-2017 performances. A single ticket can be bought for $50.00 and $25.00 for a student and $110.00 for a family to see all 4 concerts.
Nathan Lefeber – They hired a new orchestra teacher for the district who is coming to KHS from within the district. The Jazz Ensemble is going to Lincoln perform for 2 hours at a place called Vega.
There is a NYC trip mandatory meeting on April 18th @ 5:30 in the cafeteria. There will be rehearsals ahead of the trip and another mandatory meeting on May 22nd after practice and a concert from 3:30-6:30pm. If you have not done a background check from with the district in the past you need to do one before the trip if you are going. There was a short discussion about per diem for the trip and more details will be at the April 18th meeting.
With no further business there was a motion by Ed Uden and second by LInda Johnson to dismiss the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 6:15pm.
