Meeting was called to order by President Alexis McNeal at 5:40. The minutes were approved as written.
Financial report – Treasurer Corrine reviewed the financials. The money had been received from the UNK football game concessions but had not yet been deposited in the student’s accounts on Charms. It was reported we received $410.00 from the Give Where You Live campaign. The script total was $38.21 with $160.07 going into the student’s accounts.
Basketball concessions are going well. They made a large buy at Sam’s Club to stock up for the season. One game had turned out to have extremely low sales. It was pointed out that the game was a girls only game with a much smaller crowd attending.
Fundraising – Stacy Bean reported that HyVee coupon books were a go. They will kick off the first week of February. They will be sold similar to the CatCards.
Mr. Lefeber introduced a woman named Mary who had made the old uniforms into some pillows. She showed two pillows and one tote bag. She was going to see who would help make some more items as there was a lot of interest in the room. So far about 20 uniforms had been bought and 60 pairs of pants were sold to Superior.
Stacy Bean volunteered to chair the Big Band Dance. Thank you Stacy. The Big Band Dance is April 15th at Sunrise Middle School.
There is still a need for a volunteer to chair the Band Banquet held in May for Senior’s. We are looking for a couple of Junior parents to volunteer.
Mr. Mitchell – Wind Ensemble performs on January 18, 2016. Honor band season is here. Students will be receiving an email if they are in Honor Band.
Mr. Lefeber – Hopes the students are enjoying playing and being in band. He is always open to feedback.
Trip update…the next payment for the New York trip is due on January 15th. By that time everyone should have paid $1800.00 towards the trip. The Broadway play that people going to see while in New York City is called Something Rotten. It is a Tony Award winning musical.
New school update – The date of Band Camp is in question due to the move to the new high school. More about this topic to come.
A Scholarship team was set up who will meet in the spring to select 2 seniors to receive a scholarship from KBPA. Scholarship applications will be due in late March. The team includes James Friesen, Lauren, Jennifer Welkers and Patti Bennett.
