General Meeting Minutes – March 2018

Tuesday, March 6, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 6:44 pm by President Eva Linn. Ed Uden motioned approval of last month minutes, Sharon Johnson second.

Leah gave financial report.

First Branson trip payment was made. Branson trip next payment is due March 16th- $200.00 and April 23rd is the final payment. There are 91 kids and 16 adults going on trip.
Soup and pie supper raised $704.00. Thank you to all who helped.
Board member positions that are being sought: President Elect, Treasurer Elect and Momfia leaders. Please let any board member know of interests. Nominees will be announced in April.
Band Scholarship applications are due March 26th.
Mr. Mitchell stated 52 band members are trying out for District Music contest participation. Volunteers are needed for Concession stand during District Music contest. We will be hosting 8 schools. Patty Bennett motioned and Ed Uden second the money earned from the contest will go to Musicalia ( all departments will benefit from the contest).
An online fundraiser for Branson trip is being looked. People can donate money and 13% would be subtracted from amount given. More details to come.
Mr. LaFeber introduced Nick Chandler music intern student. Shelving for the band room is being reviewed by the school for approval. Brett and Judy Meyer have agreed to make shadow boxes for the band room.
Mr LaFeber read a thank you note from Director Dick Marolf to KHS band students for their performance at NSBA. Programs are available from NSBA.
Summer 2020 school trip was discussed.
Kearney and Hastings put in a bid for NSBA at their campus. Awaiting word who won.

Ed Uden motioned to adjourn the meeting and Doreen Sheen second. Meeting was adjourned. Next meeting is April 3rd at 6:30 pm.
