Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Lisa Parish.
Financial Report
- Savings = $63,735.59
- Checking = $29,676.04
- Scrip = $543.50
Corrine gave financial report Erica motioned to approve the Financial report and Ed second, all were in favor, motioned passed.
Approval of Minutes
Approval of December meeting minutes with a correction was motioned by Joni and second by Bodie, all were in favor.
General Informations
- Uniforms are still needing turned in. Students in Honor Bands will turn theirs in later.
Band Banquet
Barb & Ed Uden are working on finalizing details. The theme is Pirates. If anyone has any pirate decorations to donate please contact Barb or Ed.
Chairs Needed
- Big Band Dance and Co-chair (4/5) – Lauren Harbol and Kris Ann Wickham
- Underclassmen Honor Band (1/21) – contact Mr. Mitchell
Fundraisers
- Booster/band Pie and Soup supper February 2nd. There will be a SignUp Genius for this event
- Concessions dates are January 22, March 19, April 8, and 22nd. Look in SignUp Genius
Directors Comments
Mr. Mitchell commented on the Pep Band performing at the wrestling meet held inside the auditorium. A reminder that performing in Pep Band is part of the students grade. We have several attendee for Honor Bands this year. Congratulations to all accepted. The Wind Ensemble will be performing at the opening of the Veteran’s home on January 16th.
Mr. LeFeber – Mr. Loof nominated Mr. Mitchell as band director for Nebraska in the magazine School, Band and Orchestra as the Band Directors that Make a Difference. Congratulations!
- The band has gained new members and directors have been helping with lessons and introducing instruments.
- We now have 2 Jazz Bands. Mr. LeFeber asked the KBPA for approval of purchasing a drum set and platform. Cost is approximately $3,000.00. Ed motioned to approve the purchase and Corrine second the motion. All were in favor and motioned approved.
- The Germany trip has 100 students/adults attending. (77 students and 23 adults) A total of 105 need to be signed up. He has applied for grants to help with the costs.
- March 14th is the band and orchestra concert. March 11th the US Air Force Band will perform.
Adjournment
With no other business to conduct, there was a motion by Ed and second by Bryan to adjourn. All were in favor, motion carried. Next meeting is February 5th at 6:30 in the band room.
