| 4. | Committee Reports a. Pit Crew – Ed Uden – Still need some help during games. Will have more props and will need more hands. Please volunteer on Sign Up Genius. Get your practice in for the Pit Crew Olympics for NSBA! b. Uniforms / Roadies – make sure students have all pieces of their uniform including black socks, may need to check pant length. Hang the uniform out after the performance. c. Concessions – Amanda Smallcomb – more Sign Up Genius opportunities coming soon. Students can also sign up if there are enough adults. d. Communications – Tammi Chamberlin – More content on social sites. Grew from 2006 to 2224 Facebook followers and 345 to 426 Instagram followers. e. BMF & NSBA – Sarah Gensler – BMF is coming up quickly. Thurs 17th at 6pm is the volunteer training meeting. Set up is Friday the 18th from 4:00-6:00pm with an additional setup window on Saturday morning. Everyone who volunteers, will receive a meal voucher. You will be able to see your kids perform even if you are signed up during the performance time. Volunteers are able to park in the Gracyk Lawncare parking lot. ACT testing will also be happening but most kids will be finished by 11am. f. Band banquet g. Big Band Dance h. Advertisements/sponsorships and community fundraising activities – Alissa Nebbe Must have Dairy Queen flyer for the fundraiser tomorrow from 6-9pm. Need a couple more volunteers from 7:30 to 9pm. We receive 20% of sales. Need more business sponsors. | 9. | Director’s Comments Rick Mitchell Thank you all for being here and supporting the KHS Band. It’s always fun to see parents get involved in the activities and remain friends long after their kids grow up. Our president Elizabeth was a student of mine back in the day. We do our best to provide opportunities for your kids, including solos, honor bands, chamber music, traveling for various groups such as jazz as well as our destination trips. Bus sponsors take attendance and make sure kids are behaving appropriately, but it’s a fun time. Will need 10 bus sponsors (2 on each bus). New sponsors will need to complete a background check with the school. Nathan LeFeber Last year we approved a purchase for a battery powered generator which just arrived. This will be exponentially helpful with our competitions and we are so appreciative of KBPA. 1st Sat – Harvest of Harmony2nd Sat – Columbus3rd Sat – Vermillion4th Sat – NSBAWe do expect kids to attend one concert every term and complete a concert critique. Several great opportunities, including Jazz at the World theatre which is free. Another opportunity is the Kearney Concert Association. We do have some free passes we give to kids.
