It takes more than musicians to make a successful band program. Throughout the school year, parents, families, alumni, and community members help support performances, competitions, special events, fundraising, uniforms, transportation, and many other activities.
Whether you can give a few hours at one event or help throughout the season, your time makes a meaningful difference. To help distribute volunteer needs across the program, some opportunities include a suggested student grade level, though everyone is encouraged to participate whenever possible.

- Band Banquet (Juniors-May)
- Band Camp – snack servers or uniform checkout
- Band Exhibition – serves drinks (Freshman – fall)
- Band Parent Officers 2015-16 (Apr-May election)
- Band Trip Bus Sponsors (May)
- Bearcat Marching Festival
- Big Band Dance
- District Music Contest (April, if held in Kearney)
- Grant Research Team – search for funds to support band expenses
- Hat plumes & bleachers-home football games (assist uniform chair)
- Instrument fundraising
- Newspaper/Publicity (assist the Secretary throughout year)
- Pit Crew – (fall marching season, home football games, and competitions)
- Pride Buttons (need access to Photoshop-fall)
- Spirit Parents – Senior Flags (Seniors-fall)
- Water Coordinator (fall competitions)
- Window Decals/Yard Signs (fall)
